Summary

This position is part of the Office of the Inspector General, Department of Energy in the Office of Management and Administration. As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, you will be serves as the Director of the Information Technology Division and serves as the OIG's liaison with the DOE Chief Information Officer (CIO), working in coordination with OIG leadership to oversee the governance and management of the OIG's federal IT and cybersecurity environment.

As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, you will:

  • Oversee successful implementation of the goals and objectives, through subordinate staff, for the OIG IT program.
  • Define overall direction and objectives for IT operations.
  • Develop strategies and implements processes for successful management of IT investments.
  • Serves as the single point of contact and principal advisor for all matters involving information technology (IT) operations, systems, and cyber security for the entire Office of Inspector General.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

  1. Providing subject matter expertise and oversight in highly technical program areas related to information technology management and cyber security.
  2. Supervising, developing, directing, and administering policies as they relate to information technology management.
  3. Finding and implementing ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building, or improve business practices.
