Duties

Help

As a Supervisory Auditor, you will:

  1. Successfully applying the theories, concepts, principles, and practices of data analytics.
  2. Planning, organizing and completing analytical studies involving the substance of key agency programs.
  3. Providing advice and alternative perspectives to the Assistant Inspector General for CADA, the Deputy Assistant Inspector General, the Director of the Data Analytics Division, and the IG's Office on strategic planning for data analytics needs.
  4. Supervising staff of data analytics experts ensuring adequate mentoring, staff development, and training. Provides the administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.

Qualifications


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

To qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as:

  1. Managing the application of data analytics techniques.
  2. Leading data analytics efforts to identify for reviewing areas of potential fraud and possible mismanagement.
  3. Providing policy advice and expertise in all matters involving Department data sources in support of OIG operational activities.
Selection Place Factor:Do you have knowledge of Excel and either Access/SQL, Python, or R.

Education

All applicants must meet one of the following basic eligibility requirements in order to qualify for this position:

  1. Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.

    or

  2. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:

    1. A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
    2. Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.

To meet the education requirement for this position, applicants must submit an unofficial/official transcript or a list of courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned. Education completed in foreign colleges and universities may be used if the institution has been accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education.

NOTE:

  • A PMP, or other project management certifications or degrees are preferred.
  • CPA, CIA, CFE, other auditing certifications, or master's in accounting, Business Administration, or Finance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Excel and either Access/SQL, Python, or R is manadatory.
