The Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Inspector General (OIG) is currently looking for a Information Technology Specialist (Data Management) in one of our fourteen DOE-OIG locations. Join our professional team of auditors, criminal investigators, and inspectors who help support DOE's mission through performance and financial audits, inspections of management issues and administrative allegations, and investigations into alleged violations of law.

Duties

Help

As an Information Technology Specialist (Data Management) within the OIG, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Creating, designing, implementing, and maintaining relational (i.e., Microsoft SQL Server) and non-relational (e.g., NoSQL) databases.
  • Developing and working with data warehouses (data marts, cubes, quality assurance, quality control, debugging, data flow).
  • Securing data and applications, managing identity and access, implementing platform protections, and monitoring cloud resources.
  • Overseeing software lifecycle management processes.
  • Working with computer networks and supports IT infrastructure security.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade or equivalent pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as 1) Managing databases, working with data warehouses; 2) Applying software lifecycle management processes; 3) Securing data and applications; 4) Managing identity and access; 5) Implementing platform protections; and 4) Monitoring cloud resources.
