As an Auditor, you will: 1) Plan, organize, and conduct complex audits of Department management and operating contractor and subcontractor incurred costs, Cost Accounting Standards compliance audits, and reviews of Cost Accounting Standards disclosure statements. 2) Be responsible for reviewing the contractor's incurred cost submission for adequacy. 3) Develop or assist in the development of audit requirements and Agency goals and objectives in assigned program areas. 4) Prepare written reports of findings and/or recommendations which may impact decisions made regarding the acceptance or disallowance of incurred costs. 5)Provide technical direction, guidance, and training to audit team members and makes technical presentations to management and staff.

Qualifications
In addition to the basic eligibility requirements, listed in the Education section of this announcement, applicants must have the following specialized experience and/or directly related education or a combination:
Specialized Experience: Requires 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-12. Specialized experience includes experience in accounting and auditing concepts, practices, and techniques as applied to planning, conducting, and reporting on audits of incurred costs, Cost Accounting Standards compliance audits, and reviews of Cost Accounting Standards disclosure statements. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and contract auditing and ability to conduct difficult and very broad audit assignments involving cost accounting principles, Federal Acquisition Regulations, or Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations and accounting and contract auditing sufficient to assess the adequacy of management and operating contractor and subcontractor incurred cost submissions and to audit incurred costs to determine whether they are allowable, allocable, and reasonable and in compliance with contract terms.
Education
1. Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration, or accounting OR2. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
