Duties

Help

As an Investigator for the Office of Office of Inspections, Intelligence Oversight, and Special Projects, you will be responsible for:

  • Receiving and analyzing complaints to determine if the complaint falls potentially within the scope of fraud, waste, and abuse violations.
  • Preparing investigative plans, conducting investigations and analyzing evidence, drafting reports of conclusions and recommendations.
  • Drafting Congressional Correspondence providing information pertaining to investigations conducted.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

  1. Receiving, reviewing, conducting and investigating allegations of waste fraud and abuse.
  2. Conducting investigations into alleged administrative misconduct and whistleblower reprisal within the DOE.
  3. Briefing the Deputy Inspector General, IG and other high-level Government officials on investigative findings.

Education

Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
