As a Building Manager, you will:

  • Manage the operation, maintenance, and repair of buildings and grounds, including office space for employees.
  • Supervise a team of four employees who provide support in safety, security, office layout, personnel management, maintenance, and repair.
  • Oversee building maintenance, energy programs, and mechanical/electrical repairs (routine and emergency).
  • Ensure adherence to federal safety, fire protection, and security regulations while supporting the headquarters emergency management program.
  • Administer contracts for facilities management and building operations, while also tracking all building equipment, supplies, and materials.

  • This position has been designated as Critical-sensitive, High Risk and requires a security clearance at the Q level. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain this clearance; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.
  • This is an emergency essential position. You will be required to report to duty during emergency situations .
  • This position is not included in a Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 of the following:

  1. Managing all aspects of plant facilities, including operation, maintenance, and repairs, to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Directing technical and administrative support to facilitate thorough oversight of facilities maintenance contracts.
  3. Overseeing contractor performance for building operations and facilities, including planning, negotiation, scheduling, and performance review.
