Summary

This position is located in the Department of Justice, Civil Division, Office of Management Programs, Office of information Technology (OIT). You will serve as the Assistant CIO for Information Technology Resource Management performing a wide variety of IT duties in support of the Civil Division. You will be responsible for overseeing the Division's data management responsibilities, IT contracts, IT project management, IT related data calls, and IT policy and planning for the Civil Division.

Duties

Help

As a GS-2210-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Supervising, developing, and directing the work of multiple Information Technology Specialists at the GS-14 level performing data managment, contract management, and project management.
  • Serving as the principal advisor to the CIO on all strategic IT-related matters.
  • Evaluating, creating, and implementing the information technology portfolio and providing broad policy, priorities, and program guidance in support of IT mission requirements.
  • Providing data analysis and data validation in support of special requests and routine data calls in response to the Department, OMB, GAO, and Civil Division, including but not limited to: Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA), artificial intelligence, data intelligence, enterprise risk, and strategic planning.
  • Determining resource requirements on all matters pertaining to information sharing and information management.
  • Serving as the data management authority and senior consultant.
  • Developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of IT services
    throughout the agency.
  • Championing the use of modern data management, drawing heavily upon best practices from the technology industry.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Supervisory IT Specialist (Policy Planning & Data Mangement)at GS-2210-15, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.

If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level as listed in the qualifications below. Time-in-Grade applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF-50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).

To qualify for the GS-15 Supervisory IT Specialist (Policy Planning & Data Management) position, you must demonstrate that you have one
year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 performing such work as planning and assigning work to others; establishing
guidelines and performance expectations; serving as an advisor to senior management on all strategic IT-matters; providing data analysis and data validation; reporting on matters concerning data governance; interfacing with cybersecurity personnel to ensure appropriate data use; providing policy guidance and interpretation of program objectives; providing advice on current and emerging technologies, information
sharing, data management, and artificial intelligence.
