Duties

Help

As an Aviation Support Specialist, you will:

  • Reviews aircrew record-keeping system standards and reports, provides Aviation Manager (AM) weekly helicopter reports.
  • Maintains helicopter record-keeping system for flight operations that include Helicopter Daily Aircraft Flight Log (DAFL).
  • Conducts monthly reviews with the Budget office for Aviation's monthly budget spend plan in line with current Aviation requirements and operational expenses.
  • Enters weekly Maximo - Work Order Tracking for each flight hour flow by aircraft pulled from submitted DAFLs. Maintains statistical and financial reports reflecting historical trends in flight hours and monthly flight cost distribution for Federal Aviation Interacting Reporting System (FAIRS) quarterly reports.
  • Primary aviation program government fleet card administrator ensuring purchases are in compliance with budget plans.
  • Provides technical assistance to the Aviation Manager by reviewing technical documents, work requests, and contractor work products.
  • Provides overview for the travel requirements with-in the Aviation Program through an electronic travel program.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

  1. Knowledge of the Maximo program to initiate electronic purchase requisitions, manage funding, handle routing and process reports, AND/OR
  2. Advises on administrative, crew, and aircraft operational requirements in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) records management standards, AND/OR
  3. Maintained accurate helicopter flight, maintenance, and passenger records in Aviation SharePoint, ensuring full compliance with FAA auditing requirements.

Time-in-Grade: Current career or career-conditional GS employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional GS employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current career or career-conditional federal employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
