WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As a Budget Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:


Developing procedures and methods to budget for long-range funding; monitors status of funds, obligations, and expenditures; recommends reprogramming and adjustments to account for funding changes and execution issues.

Assembles and compiles background and historical data to assist in development of budget estimates and justifications; evaluates alternative methods and sources of financing; develops and implements budget policies for complex programs.

Providing advisory services on allocation matters; recommends approval or disapproval of allotments and other funding requests; ensures budget estimates and documentation support program objectives and funding requirements.

Analyzing and advising on budget/financial administration problems; evaluates budgetary policies, analytical methods, and financial data; interprets and applies laws, regulations, and policies affecting budget execution and management.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications: (if applicable)

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

1. Independently analyzing and executing budget activities involving annual, multi-year, no-year, reimbursable, or revolving funds, including funds control, execution tracking, and resolution of funding issues.

2. Developing and documenting cost estimates, financial models, and rate methodologies used to establish, justify, or adjust customer rates for shared services, working capital funds, or reimbursable programs.

3. Establishing, applying, and validating allocation methodologies to distribute costs, support billing processes, and ensure full cost recovery in compliance with governing financial policies.

4. Assessing financial systems, reports, and budget data to determine accuracy, internal control compliance, and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and departmental policy; recommending corrective actions as needed.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
