WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY


As an Investigative Analyst, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Conducting vetting of UAC sponsors, contracts, and/or grants, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and following relevant agency policies and protocols.
  • Supporting ORR's mission to safeguard unaccompanied alien children (UAC), protect sensitive assets, and prevent vulnerabilities in sponsorship and acquisition processes.
  • Assisting in the development, revision, and implementation of policies, directives, and
    standard operating procedures related to vetting operations.
  • Identifying areas for efficiency, compliance improvement, and risk reduction, and
    recommends process changes for supervisory approval.
  • Ensuring policies remain consistent with DHHS regulations, OIG guidance, and
    applicable federal statutes.
  • Reviewing, cross-checking, and analyzing information from multiple data sources,
    including law enforcement, intelligence, and commercial databases.
  • Identifying discrepancies, fraud indicators, or derogatory information, and provides
    actionable findings to leadership to inform operational and policy decisions.
  • Applying advanced analytical methods to assess the reliability, accuracy, and
    completeness of information.
  • Coordinating with federal, state, and municipal law enforcement agencies,
    intelligence community partners, and other government stakeholders to exchange
    vetting information.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert representing the Division in interagency
    workgroups, policy discussions, and operational planning meetings.
  • Facilitating proactive and reactive collaborations with external agencies to address
    areas of overlapping jurisdiction or concern.

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Supporting national vetting operations by coordinating foreign national access requests, conducting in-depth research and analyses, and ensuring compliance with established vetting protocols and security policies.
  • Contributing to process improvement efforts by assisting in the development and implementation of automated or semi-automated vetting workflows to enhance efficiency and ensure timely completion of reviews.
  • Maintaining compliance and data integrity by adhering to federal regulations and agency procedures governing the management, retention, and reporting of sensitive information within vetting systems and databases.
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration across functional teams by sharing findings, preparing briefings, and conveying complex vetting information to leadership and program staff to support informed decision-making.

If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
