Duties

Help

  • Serve as a consultant, coach and supporter to facilitate problem solving and accomplishment of Field Office goals and programs for the multi-resources program.
  • Responsible for administration of a variety of management programs such as safety, upward mobility, cost reduction, leave programs, Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO), drug free workplace, overtime usage, suggestions, etc.
  • Coordinate land and resource planning and management with representatives of Federal, State, tribal, and local governments, the general public, public land users, and private landowners.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating a broad array of complex resource programs requiring intensive multiple-use management and protection of a variety of resources with a focus on fluid and solid minerals, realty, range, recreation and/or archaeology.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) planning, implementing, and/or administering a natural resource program in a multi-resource environment involving the management of public lands; (2) managing or directing one or more natural resource programs within a multiple-use framework or natural resources management setting; (3) working with an established budget system; (4) managing public lands for multiple use, such as energy, mineral and renewable resources. (Note: Your resume must describe this experience, or you may be found ineligible).

Education

There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 grade level of this announcement.

Additional information

Physical Demands: Work is primarily in an office setting. There is frequent travel to field sites via four wheel drive vehicles, fixed wing aircraft, helicopter, and boats. There is a potential for adverse climatic conditions. Field work involves walking, bending, and climbing on steep and rough terrain.

Working Conditions: Most work is in a office setting. Field sites involve exposure to adverse weather, i.e., rain, snow, cold and/or heat. Some outdoor work requires special safety precautions. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.

The Bureau of Land Management has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
