Duties

Help
  • Assists with the development, formulation, monitoring, tracking and execution related to budget and finance. Maintain and review financial documents. Processing transactions in the automated financial system.
  • Serves as collection officer.
  • Serves as clerical point of contact on human resources for the office, assists supervisors with personnel forms and documents and other human resource personnel actions.
  • Provide technical assistance on policy, procedural and regulatory human resource matters.
  • Serves as timekeeper for payroll.
  • Serves as clerical point of contact for resource programs. Perform administrative transactions in various systems and databases.
  • Prepares, edits, and finalizes correspondence for the office. Serves as public contact providing general information and staffing front desk.
  • Assists with facility operations and maintenance needs including office equipment, security systems, etc. Overseeing contracts for buildings and facilities.
  • Process daily incoming and outgoing mail. Date, route, stamp and deliver incoming mail. Assemble out-going mail.

  • You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

Specialized Experience GS-06: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: 1) Providing customer service to the public (in person or by phone) in a front-facing position, such as a front desk of a public office; 2) Using various automated office programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for the purpose of or the purpose of preparing forms; reports, correspondence and other standardized and non-standardized clerical assignments; and 3) Providing administrative support functions in ONE of the following areas: Budget and Finance; Facilities; Fleet; Property; Procurement; Collections; Timekeeping/Payroll; Records; and Mail..

There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-06 grade level of this announcement.

Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies, and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials.

Working Conditions: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
