Assists coworkers/Gardener Supervisor with the preparation and implementation of maintenance schedules for all shrubs, perennial plants, annual flowers and turf. Utilizes Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for monitoring and initiation of control for pest and diseases in the landscape. Works with NPS gardeners, laborers, individual volunteers and volunteer groups to complete maintenance and gardening tasks within cultural landscapes and gardens in the park. Performs a wide variety of landscape maintenance duties including plant installation, preparation of landscape and IPM reports, watering, trash removal, pruning, preparation of planting beds, cultivation of ornamental plants and performing weed control. Safely operates and maintains power equipment such as pick-up trucks, mowers and hand tools. Performs snow removal using tools such as shovels, push blowers and Gator with snow blade. Interacts with the visiting public to answer questions about the park, gardens, and respond to basic visitor needs. Must be forward thinking and safety minded.

Physical Demands: The work requires frequent walking, standing, pushing of carts and wheelbarrows, bending, and stooping.
