Duties

Help

At the full performance level, the employee provides expertise, project management, and coordination support to Regional Offices and other HQ offices for the Sustainability and Environmental Compliance programs. Provides program and project planning to establish schedules on major projects in collaboration with the Sustainability and Environmental Compliance program leads. Coordinate teams of technical and functional experts to support programs and projects. Complies data for analysis and tracking progress towards meeting program goals.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade in federal service:

GS-12 Experience relative to sustainability or environmental compliance programs. You must have experience in six (6) or more of the following below:

GS-13 Experience relative to sustainability or environmental compliance programs. You must have experience in eight (8) or more of the following below:

  1. Project management
  2. Data collection, management, or reporting
  3. Develop project or program tracking tools
  4. Coordinate teams
  5. Risk analysis
  6. Data analysis
  7. Summarize findings or recommendations
  8. Lead in-depth studies or projects
  9. Analyze issues related to sustainability or environmental compliance
  10. Assess effects of policies, plans, or programs
  11. Develop guidance or policy

Time-in-Grade: Current career or career-conditional GS employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional GS employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current career or career-conditional federal employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

This position may be eligible for creditable service towards annual leave. Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. DOE may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
Occasional travel of up to 5-10% annually is required; with overnight travel possible during allor part of that time.
The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain the required DOE/WAPA certification to serve as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR).
This position requires the ability to operate a government vehicle.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Defensive Drivers certification and have a valid state driver's license. Defensive Driver's Training will be completed upon employment.
