Assist Volunteer Program Coordinator mentoring other VIP staff as they plan and facilitate volunteer projects, and present educational and interpretive programming and outreach. Update and improve park website to provide additional information on volunteer opportunities, AiR program and internships. Compile and report volunteer data, including numbers and hours for submission to regional VIP report.
Plan outreach goals and collaborate with staff and park partners on programs and events involving visiting artists, local communities, and both local and visiting youth groups. Strengthen the park's relevance to the local community and engage the community and youth in stewardship of the park's cultural and natural resources.
Assist with planning and implementing outreach strategies to facilitate increased participation between the community and the park. Identify, plan, and conduct appropriate volunteer projects for local community members. Evaluate effectiveness of outreach efforts and recommend improvement/adjustments based on findings.
Assist with overseeing daily operations of the Volunteer Office and the office outreach efforts. Mentor VIP staff, helping to facilitate on-the-job training and oversight of youth and community programming.
Assist Volunteer Program Coordinator to assess need for, and development of, training sessions for volunteers. Develop VIP opportunities to learn about Glacier National Park cultural and natural resources and park operations.
