WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:

As the Director of Operations and Management, you will provide authoritative advice and guidance to the Office of Acquisition Management Services (OAMS) and Portfolio Directors on technical and policy matters impacting the administration of programs and activities of OAMS.

Your duties will be the following but not limited to:

  • Determines and implements goals and objectives for the efficient and effective operations of the Office and communicates and coordinates projects, milestones, deadlines, timelines, and reporting requirements in support of these goals.
  • Leads and promotes team-oriented approaches and the development, direction, and coordination of program-related management policies, activities, and operations.
  • Interprets, develops, and implements cross-divisional policies and processes, determines services needed for optimal support of mission activities, and ensures that planning, budgeting, and policy analysis and implementation initiatives are informed by an awareness of current internal and external developments.
  • Leads establishment of short-range, long-range, and strategic plans for management, business-related, and technical services and operations.
  • Provides analysis and advisory guidance to OAMS leadership by developing key program policies, initiatives, and processes to support critical programs, business efforts, and administrative services; formulating proposals, plans, and approaches (i.e., to better manage funds, personnel and material resources such as funding, positions, space and equipment).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify for this GS-15 position because my resume clearly demonstrates that I have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-14 level in the federal service. Examples of minimally qualifying specialized experience includes the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis, by performing ALL five (5) of the following tasks:

(1) Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives, or activities of organizations to ensure continuing operations, to maximize or increase productivity.

(2) Analyze operations to evaluate performance of staff in meeting objectives and/or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.

(3) Prepare budgets for approval, including those for funding or implementation of programs.

(4) Providing guidance and/or direction to subordinates, to include setting performance standards and monitoring performance.

(5) Direct/Supervise organizational operations, projects, or services.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
