Help

The primary duties of this position are:

  • Provide technical support in recruitment and placement activities for commonly occurring positions.
  • Serves as the point of contact for on-boarding and separating employees.
  • Completes coding and processing of personnel actions using personnel systems/programs within Bureau, Department, and OPM guidelines.
  • Review completed classification packages from specialists for accuracy and ensure all parts, to include position description (PD) cover page, PDs, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) determination, etc., for completeness and accuracy.

Qualifications

In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the education and/or specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.

To qualify at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in federal service.

GS-06 Specialized Experience: Defined as experience initiating a variety of personnel actions, identifying and correcting errors involving personnel and payroll issues, and coordinating the resolution with the appropriate party (i.e. payroll, health benefits vendors, OPM, other agencies, or other administrative contracts).

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in to at least the GS-06 grade level in federal service.

GS-07 Specialized Experience: Defined as experience processing a full range of personnel actions, researching and
correcting errors involving personnel data, and coordinating the resolutions with the appropriate party (i.e. payroll, health benefits vendors, OPM, other agencies, or other administrative contracts). Experience must include one of the following: providing information to applicants on the status of applications, assisting in preparing vacancy announcements or reviewing applications for eligibility.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.

Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and you may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.
