Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, but there may be long periods of standing and/or walking, sometimes over rough terrain, in order to give or monitor interpretive programs, to provide condition assessments, or to perform other aspects of the work.
Incumbent may be subject to shift changes of lieu days and/or start and end times, will be required to work at least one weekend day regularly, and may be required to work overtime, on holidays, or during emergency situations.
Working Conditions: Work is occasionally performed indoors in a classroom or office setting, however, it is primarily conducted outdoors and is subject to inclement weather conditions. Common discomforts and risks involved in offices and during outdoor activity may be encountered and require differing safety practice.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
