This is a full-time TERM position located in Chesapeake Bay Office. The primary focus of the position is to initiate an educational and programmatic outreach project benefiting the NPS Chesapeake Gateways & WaterTrails Network and the Chesapeake Bay Program.
TERM positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service and will be for a period not to exceed thirteen months, with possible extensions up to a total of four years without further competition.

The incumbent will be responsible for: assessing current Chesapeake stewardship-related curriculum and programming, developing new educational program templates for partners; conducting regional training workshops for environmental educators and teachers; implementing a new National Park Service Junior Ranger program; providing technical assistance for education and outreach projects supported through NPS financial assistance awards; and evaluating and revising a voluntary stewardship code for the general public.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

Physical Demands: This work may require long periods of standing, walking, and speaking. There will be some travel by vehicle. Work will be with constantly changing school groups and may be physically and intellectually demanding.
Working Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and is subject to everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions.

This office represents the NPS in the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership, coordinated by the US Environmental Protection Agency, in Annapolis, MD. Celebrated as America's sailing capital, Annapolis sits on the Chesapeake Bay and has a deep and lengthy maritime heritage. Educational institutions include St. John's College and the US Naval Academy.
