Duties

Help

Your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Ensures Security specialists are adequately trained to screen materials, process requests through the Integrated Tracking system, and record and track all contraband
  • Ensures the physical protection of the Pentagon Remote Delivery Facility and the safety and security of all the facilities' personnel
  • Provides guidance to Security Specialists who provide direct security administration support and oversight
  • Conducts comprehensive studies and reviews on functional processes and establishes new guidance on the operations of the program
  • Directs the work to be accomplished, establishes priorities, and ensures quality of work is pursuant to established schedules and milestones

  • This position in indexed as requiring the Security Fundamentals DoD Certification. The employee must obtain the required certification within two (2) years of entering on duty in this position.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to apply physical security laws, polices, regulations, strategic plans and precedents as related to a law enforcement, security, or force protection organization; Implement security policy to provide procedural and operational direction and guidance in the accomplishment of physical security programs; Implementing procedures that enable the improvement of the operational effectiveness and efficiency of a Remote Delivery Facility security operations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
