Duties

Help

  • Locates trouble and maintains electrical equipment and related circuitry in high voltage substations and/or hydroelectric generating stations.
  • Installs and/or assists with installation and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
  • Repairs, tests, and services AC and DC motors and generators, elevators and electric hoisting equipment, power transformers, distribution transformers, instrument transformers, oil/air circuit breakers, various types of switches, recording, metering and relaying devices, telephone equipment, battery and charging systems, ventilation equipment, illumination devices, and various AC and DC control circuitry.
  • Reads layout, wiring, and schematic diagrams to accomplish circuitry installation, troubleshooting and/or maintenance.
  • Updates aforementioned drawings to reflect modifications or equipment replacement.
  • Performs operational duties such as: operating high voltage circuit breakers and disconnect switches, performing inspections on pneumatic, hydraulic, lubricating, and water treatment systems, abides by safe clearance procedures and safety practices recognized by the industry.

Qualifications

Your application materials must demonstrate sufficient experience and training to perform the duties of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position.
