WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Community Living Program Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Administration for Community Living to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Serving as liaison between grantees and designated ACL program operations; promoting new and cross-cutting initiatives, and providing technical assistance to grantees at the local, state, regional and national level, as appropriate.
Collecting and analyzing data, providing information and advice, and preparing, updating, monitoring, and reporting on designated program operations and grantee activities, issues and accomplishments.
Planning, monitoring, and evaluating the progress of designated program operations especially those dealing with social services, education and training activities and preparing recommendations for improving program quality and performance.
Preparing descriptive background and analytical reports, memoranda, and other types of written responses for reports to senior management, supervisors, team leaders and staff on significant issues of legislative and operational concern within the incumbent's area of specialization.
Basic Qualification Requirements:
A. Must have at least a bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Must have a combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Must have at least four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
AND
Additional Qualification Requirements: In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification Requirements candidates must also:
Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service that includes at least three (3) of the following: 1. Experience with disability programs and/or policy. 2. Experience assisting in administrative tasks related to grants and/or contracts. 3. Experience participating in workgroups to streamline processes and procedures. 4. Knowledge of mandatory or discretionary grant funding for disability programs. 5. Analyzing and/or resolving problems in effectiveness and/or efficiency of disability programs.
