Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST
clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
To qualify for this position you must meet the basic requirements for one of the following series by close of the announcement:
For the General Natural Resources Management and Biological Sciences 0401 Series:
biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
For the General Physical Science 1301 Series:
physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
B. Combination of education and experience
-- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Experience at this level must include all of the following: (1) Preparing natural resource inventory or monitoring data for use in scientific analysis and reporting. (2) Experience in the use of R, python, or other programming language to evaluate and report the status and trends of natural resource inventory or monitoring data. (3) Experience leading teams or projects to design and build databases to support the collection, entry, and quality assurance of natural resource inventory or monitoring data..
You must include hours per week worked.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
