    These positions are located in NPS Regional Office Serving Interior Regions 6,7 and 8, in the Resource Stewardship & Science Directorate. Duty Stations will be Lakewood, CO and Santa Fe, NM

    Serves as a technical specialist in the science and art of architecture with advanced training in the principles, theories, concepts, methods, and techniques of preserving historic and prehistoric structures with the focus on preserving a structure's physical attributes and materials.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Provides architectural services for the preservation, stabilization, rehabilitation, restoration, and reconstruction of historical structures
    • Conducts architectural/engineering investigations of project historic and non-historic structures and sites to determine the feasibility of the proposed project, including the development of design alternatives and subsequent analysis to ensure the projects comply with policies and applicable federal, state and local standards.
    • Develops engineering and architectural drawings and specifications.
    • Prepares treatment and preservation plans.
    • Prepares drawings for use by the office and to the standards of and for inclusion in the Historic American Buildings Survey and the Historic American Engineering Record.
    • Prepares the scope of work (SOW) to define the project's objectives and requirements for a variety of historic and non-historic structures.
    • Serves as the Contracting Officers Technical Representative (COTR) to the Contracting Officer on various projects.
    • Provides liaison with park management, and ensure that during the course of these projects/contracts, the contractor's performance meets the technical requirements of the procurement, and that treatments are properly documented.
