    This vacancy is OPEN Only to US Citizens and Nationals that are Contiguous Area Residents of Virgin Islands National Park. A Contiguous Area Resident of Virgin Islands National Park is a permanent resident of the US Virgin Islands that has maintained a permanent residence for no less than two years on the islands of either St. John or St. Thomas.

    This area has a COLA and Locality Pay Rate of 13.01% (COLA) and (Locality) 15.37%

    Responsibilities

    This position is a full-time, permanent position stationed at Virgin Islands National Park, located on the island of St. John. The primary duties include collecting, accounting for, and processing facility use fees collected at the Trunk Bay Fee collection station. Appointee serves as a front line, uniformed representative of the National Park Service, and will be required to contact and interact with hundreds, to thousands, of park users daily. The appointee must be able to deal with multiple park users simultaneously, often under stressful conditions, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. Other duties may include visitor management related services such as: assisting with traffic control, assisting with crowd control, taking and coordinating lost and found reports, and special event set- up / take down. In addition Visitor Use Assistants provide information to park users about park rules and regulations, as well as assisting with and communicate emergency situations to the National Park Service dispatch. The appointee will be required to pass a background investigation and credit check.
