    Summary

    This position is located in the National Park Service (NPS) Office of Communications in Washington, DC. The position serves as social media specialist, providing leadership in developing and implementing the national office social media strategy to meet strategic communications goals.

    This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-Time appointment.

    This position is concurrently open under Announcement Number WO-1614-COMM-18-10176246-ST for merit promotion eligibles.

    Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

    Responsibilities

    Serving as a Social Media Specialist, you will:

    • Write and post high-quality content about the NPS.
    • Use digital images, video, and electronically produced graphics to create original content.
    • Ensure social media content meets accessibility standards, policy, and legal requirements.
    • Analyze social media analytics data and user feedback.
    • Plan, implement, and evaluate the national office social media strategy.
    • Oversee an interdisciplinary social media team.
    • Provide technical advice and best practices about social media to NPS programs that are maintaining their own social media presence.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with parks and programs.
    Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
