WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As a MANAGEMENT OFFICER, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Advising the Director/Deputy Director in the preparation and presentation of the CIO out year budget. Developing annual budget plans and budget justifications and manageing the approved budgets within the Center/Institute/Office (CIO).
  • Participating with the CIO Director and other senior leadership in establishing long- and short-range financial management effectiveness goals, objectives, and plans.
  • Managing the administrative activities of the entire CIO, including the human resources functions of the
    organization, functional statements, organization charts, and staffing plans.
  • Developing goals and objectives and establishes policies and procedures to accomplish the work of the unit and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Planning, directing, and evaluating the CIO's critical and operational planning, program development, and administrative and management services programs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Advising CIO leadership on preparation and presentation of out-year budgets and resource requirements.
  • Partnering with CIO leadership to establish long- and short-range organizational goals, objectives, and operating plans.
  • Directing CIO wide administrative activities, including HR functions, functional statements, organizational charts, staffing plans, and workforce requirements.
  • Establishing organizational goals, policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure effective operations and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Planning, directing, and evaluating critical operational planning, program development, and administrative and management-services functions.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
