Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
Install, test, maintain, and service a wide variety of radio electronic equipment, systems, and devices.
Monitor equipment or overall system performance and provide technical input to telecommunications planning efforts.
Use radio industry standard test equipment to verify, calibrate, align, and adjust equipment and systems to meet standards and tolerances.
Execute a scheduled preventative maintenance program for all components and infrastructure at all sites and makes timely replacements and/or repairs needed to minimize outages.
Maintains records regarding system performance and maintenance operations.
Provide technical support and proper user training to end users of the radio system.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-08/03/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. All candidates must also meet Time-in-Grade requirements.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position, at the GS-9 grade level you must meet at least one of the following minimum qualifications:
Specialized Experience Requirement: you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) Evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology; 2) Installing, testing, maintaining, and servicing a wide variety of radio electronic equipment, systems, and devices; 3) Using radio industry standard test equipment to verify, calibrate, align, and adjust equipment and systems to meet standards and tolerances; 4) Monitoring and recording equipment and system performance data used to develop and implement maintenance strategies and overall planning efforts; 5) Maintaining records regarding system performance and maintenance operations; 6) Providing technical support and proper user training to end users of the radio system. Education: Successful completion of at least two full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education, OR a master's degree in a major field of study in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. Combination of graduate level education and experience. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned towards a graduate degree, in excess of 18 semester hours, and divide by 18 semester hours (or equivalent).
