WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As an Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist , you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  1. Supervising and evaluating the performance and activity of subordinate professional personnel security specialists, as well as security assistants and contractors.
  2. Managing enrollment reports of agency personnel into continuous vetting, ensuring that derogatory information is promptly adjudicated and risk decisions are documented.
  3. Providing strategic direction on the modernization of security proceses, recommending technology solutions and process improvements that enhance program efficiency and align with government-wide initiatives.
  4. Overseeing the preparation of discovery requests, investigative referrals, adjudicative summaries, and other correspondence require high-level review and approval.
  5. Coordinating with Operations Division and Staff Division representatives to resolve suitability/security issues to implement consisted personnel security practices across the department.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  1. Managing and overseeing a personnel security program (i.e. Trusted Workforce program) to ensure compliance with national security and regulatory requirements.
  2. Making final decisions on cases involving negative derogatory background findings, including approving or denying access authorizations.
  3. Leading and developing personnel security staff that perform adjudications of background investigations.
  4. Providing expert guidance on employee subject security and background review matters.
  5. Developing long-term plans to reduce risks related to employee's subject security and background investigations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
