Duties

Help


Inspecting, installing, testing, adjusting, calibrating, repairing, modifying, and maintaining temperature monitors, load and frequency controllers, voltage regulators, interposing control relays, generator protective relays, various indicating, integrating, and graphic meters, revenue meters, and various other types of electrical metering and control equipment.
Analyzing equipment failures, locating faults, and informing operating and maintenance personnel of findings.
Arranging to conduct tests on energized equipment which cannot be taken out of service, such as control boards and switch gear.
Applying knowledge of electronic and electrical theory such as Ohm's Law, series and parallel circuits, Kirchhoff's Law, 3-phase power, logic circuits, AC & DC resistance capacitance, circuit analysis and transistor theory.
Interpreting drawings of existing and proposed generating plant electrical and electronic equipment, and suggests changes, corrections, or improvements.
Repairing a variety of complex electronic and electrical equipment. Obtains clearances to remove transformers, generators, and other electronic and electrical equipment from service before conducting maintenance, repair, or tests.
Planning work sequences, selecting tools and materials needed to complete assignments.

Qualifications

Condition of Employment for Probationary Period: As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
