Duties

This series covers positions managing, supervising, leading, and/or performing administrative and management work.

As a Risk Management Analyst you may:

  • Develop, update, edit, and ensure proper retention of policies, procedures, process instructions and guides.
  • Draft, edit and ensure proper retention of presentations, other material produced for RMD, LPO and stakeholder use.
  • Identify, update, categorize, rank and/or monitor, as applicable, non-transactional (enterprise) risks and RMD points of control.
  • Provide analytical support to Credit Risk Officers and transaction teams in assessing the risks of and pertaining to new proposed project finance loans/loan guarantees and large corporate infrastructure loans/loan guarantees, focusing especially on credit risk elements.
  • Provide support in collaboration with Originations Division on the determination of internal credit risk ratings and loss-given-default recovery expectations.
  • Provide support in RMD's collaboration with PMD on determination of the accuracy of assigned internal credit risk ratings and loss-given-default recovery expectations, assists in the identification of and recommendations for RMD and LPO process changes regarding credit risk management broadly, across existing new prospective transaction portfolios; assists in providing analytical support to the periodic assessment, affirmation, advising on the management of portfolio credit risk.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR GS-12: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as:

  • Evaluating documentation for consistency with risk policies, guidelines, directives, and procedures; AND
  • Knowledge and skill in interacting with finance, credit, technical, marketing, legal, and other professionals to obtain advice and support in completing assignments; AND
  • Knowledge of performing basic financial analyses to support recommendations; AND
  • Knowledge of organizational, research and communications skills, both verbal and written ability to use tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Project; data management and retention software; AND
  • Composing written presentations and presenting them to senior level management, customers, or other stakeholders.
NOTE: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 level.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR GS-13: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as:
  • Researching current or new management practices for application to financial programs or operations.; AND
  • Analyzing various types of credits required including project financing structures, middle market commercial & industrial, large corporate, cash flow reliant and leveraged transactions as well as a working knowledge of private equity investment; AND
  • Provides administrative management and provision of analytical support of and pertaining to special projects, task forces, boards and committees.
  • NOTE: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-13 level.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
