Duties

Help

In this position you will serve as a Team Supervisor in the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains' Manufacturing and Workforce Deployment division. You may supervise a team executing crucial pieces of the office's work to build a clean energy and manufacturing workforce that represents the diversity of America and a manufacturing base prepared to lead the global clean energy transition. In particular, the Team Supervisor may oversee portions of the Industrial Assessment Centers (IAC) Program, which is undergoing a historic expansion thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and report to the Program Manager for Workforce Deployment.

You may:

  • Supervise a team to help ensure it addresses program goals, including establishing priorities and ensuring quality and completion of work assignments.
  • Review and assess the status and progress of priority projects in meeting defined objectives.
  • Gather and review responses to stakeholder inquiries, data calls, and other high-level information requests.
  • Identify opportunities to refine program strategy and promote its opportunities and objectives within the organization and externally.
  • Manage the development of policy changes in response to changes in legislation or emerging engineering or technology-related issues that may impact the execution of programs, projects, and activities.
The Team Supervisor will manage the day-to-day activities of the assigned team and portfolio of work, possibly in collaboration with a second Team Supervisor overseeing portions of the IAC Program or other efforts within the Manufacturing and Workforce Deployment division.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS GS-15: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as meeting ALL of the following:

  • Leads a team to address project goals to include establishing priorities, interpreting policy, ensuring quality and completion of work assignments; AND
  • Assists with identifying opportunities to refine program strategy to ensure effective and efficient use of personnel, facilities, and other resources., AND
  • Provides professional development, coaching, and performance management for team members.

"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This position is announced under a government-wide Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Program Management positions in the GS- 0340 series. Under this Direct-Hire authority, applicants are required to meet minimum qualification requirements at the grade level(s) of interest. Veteran's Preference, Schedule A, Category Rating, and other methods of consideration DO NOT APPLY under Direct-Hire Authority regulations.
