Duties

Help

This position serves as a Supply Technician at the Hoover Dam Central Warehouse to provide technical support and accomplish supply work to ensure the effective operation of ongoing supply activities in support of the property, supply, and vehicle programs.

Duties performed at the full-performance GS-07 are in support of the purchasing, property management, and fleet management programs and include:

  • Assisting in the purchasing of items for different customers throughout the organization.
  • Inputting, reconciling, analyzing, and filing monthly credit card statements into the appropriate electronic database.
  • Assisting with property management for all end items assigned to Custodial Property Officers (CPO) throughout Hoover Dam.
  • Using system supply procedures, guides, and precedent material to reconstruct difficult supply transactions.
  • Providing customer service and fostering communication with all customers support by the central warehouse.
  • Assisting with the LCDO government fleet program in accordance with federal rules and regulations.
  • Dispatching vehicles and performing inspections on returning vehicles to access cleanliness, refueling needs, identifying, and scheduling routine maintenance, and reporting damage to the authorized government representative.
  • Interpreting computer-generated reports to enter program related information into the applicable database as required.

Qualifications

To be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.

To qualify at the GS-07, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-06 level in federal service. Specialized experience is experience relating to procurement, supply, and transportation regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure consistency with property and motor vehicle management and warehouse operations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).

Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current, valid Driver License. Failure to provide proof of such license will cause you to be rated ineligible for this position.

You may be required to serve an initial probationary period.

This is not a virtual position. Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and you may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval. Current Reclamation policy requires non-supervisory employees to report to the official duty station a minimum of at least 50 percent of their regularly scheduled tour of duty per pay period. Full time telework or remote work is not available for this position. Selectees must be eligible to telework under the 2010 Telework Act.
