Summary

This position is located in the Civil Division, Office of Management Programs, Office of Information Technology. As an Information Technology (IT) Specialist, you will serve as the Information Systems Owner for the Relativity Application and the subject matter expert for Relativity eDiscovery software. You will be responsible for supporting over 1500 customers and providing communications to DOJ users and external users at other government agencies.

Duties

Help

The duties and responsibilities for this IT Specialist (Relativity System Owner) generally include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serving as a senior expert and recognized technical authority to top Division management officials on Relativity eDiscovery software.
  • Providing expert analytical, technical and management advice for the development and integration of Division-wide policies, plans, architectures, standards and programs for automated litigation support tools which will allow for the Divisions litigation staff and contractors to collect and preserve.
  • Performing feasibility studies including original research in order to assess or develop Relativity eDiscovery solutions to meet user requirements.
  • Providing guidance to IT project managers and stakeholders so that eDiscovery Relativity development efforts are properly aligned with program/business requirements.
  • Coordinating functional requirements among organization's projects/programs and ensuring functional process improvements are shared to ensure the best overall integration efforts towards centralizing architecture requirements.
  • Advising on integrating Relativity eDiscovery solutions with Division and Department infrastructure and programs of equivalent scope and complexity.
  • Reviewing proposed policy, regulations, and procedural changes to determine impact on area of responsibility.
  • Managing agency-wide Relativity eDiscovery IT projects and initiatives that involve innovative concepts or approaches where precedents did not exist.
  • Leading quick response teams in responding to customer service problems resulting from catastrophic events, such as virus infections or power outages.
  • Performing system security duties by ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures and tool.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of IT Specialist (Relativity System Owner), (GS-2210-14), you must meet the selected placement factor listed AND possess the required specialized experience below.

Selective Placement Factor:
To be found fully qualified for this position, applicants must demonstrate, in the body of their resume or in a separate narrative statement, their experience with administering a Relativity or similar eDiscovery environment to include running the backend of the servers on premise. Applicants not addressing this Selective Placement Factor will be determined not to be qualified for the position and will not receive further consideration.

Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-14 Information Technology Specialist position, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service which involves experience of Relativity 10.2 or a more recent version or similar tool, such as (Everlaw or CasePoint) as an Administrator; performing system technical, security, privacy, project management, and user experience elements of an eDiscovery platform administration; serving as a technical authority for new and advanced computer systems software; providing expert analytical, technical and management advice for the development and integration of organization-wide policies, plans, etc.
