Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Serves as the IT&C Division Chief responsible for supervising divisional personnel who accomplish a wide range of IT and cybersecurity activities and functions
  • Leads extensive investigation and analysis of undefined factors/conditions to determine the nature and scope of issues and devise a solution
  • Develops and maintains contingency plans for responding to a disruption in the operation of DTSA business processes and information systems
  • Develops, implements, maintains and enforces the DTSA cybersecurity program consistent with the strategy and direction of the DoD Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Defense cybersecurity program, and DoD Instruction 8500.01, Cybersecurity
  • Establishes new concepts and approaches that allow DTSA mission-specific functions effective access to DODIN and DTSA applications

  • Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon appointment and annually thereafter
  • Information Assurance Management Level II (IAM II) certification must be obtained within 6 months after appointment. IAM Level II certification must be IAW DoD 8570-01-M

The Information Technology 2210, has an Individual Occupational Requirement.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:

Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

(4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition to the BASIC REQUIREMENT listed above, you must also meet the specialized experience requirement listed below.


You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your experience in:

(1) Assessing IT and cybersecurity program development efforts;

(2) Identifying problems and developing policies and guidance to address technology solutions, including new architecture hardware and software solutions;

(3) Determining the gaps between current and future architectures, and developing plans for transition to the target to ensure interoperability and compatibility; AND

(4) Communicating effectively to convince, influence, advise, and respond to questions from agency leadership, including senior decision makers; leading, evaluating, and/or directing staff.



Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, includig volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

All qualifications requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.
