WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Policy Health Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Participating with senior analysts in analyzing and evaluating existing policy and legislation and monitoring the effect these policies have on health informatics, electronic health information exchange, and interoperability.
Drafting regulations and support ONC's rulemaking activities, including standards and certifications criteria, certification program, governance of the nationwide health information network and promoting interoperability.
Conducting or managing legal research and analysis on specific issues related to health informatics and electronic health information exchange for the purpose of achieving DHHS objectives.
A. Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal serving in a developmental capacity compiling information to assist with developing program guidelines, plans and strategies; providing administrative and technical support for public health program operations; researching health care related program regulations, executive directives or operations; and conducting research, analysis, evaluation, and coordination of assigned activities related to health policy.

B. Must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
C. Must have a combination of experience as described in "A" above and education as described in "B" above.
For GS-11 Grade:
A. Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, analyzing the impact of health legislation, regulations, or executive directives on health programs or operations; developing components of health program operational plans, proposals or grants; and conducting research, analysis, evaluation, and coordination of assigned activities related to Federal health policy.

B. Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
C. Must have a combination of experience as described in "A" above and education as described in "B" above.
Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
