Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and may perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities. Applies experience and advanced knowledge applicable to FAA procedures, rules, and regulations governing a variety of administrative programs to plan and accomplish assignments. Assignments frequently require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines.
Provides direct support to the Regional Counsels for both the Eastern and New England Regions. Carries out a variety of diverse administrative, organizational, and analytical functions/tasks, as requested by the management team. Supports attorneys in all practice areas, including employment law, enforcement, acquisitions law, airports and environmental law, and ethics.
Prepares PRISM procurement requests. Manages office credit card purchases. Ensures that sufficient funds are available before making purchases. Makes data entries in REGIS as required to ensure accurate expense recording in DELPHI.
Maintains a case calendar for all practice areas which includes informal conferences, depositions, hearings, and appeals. Interacts with agency personnel and the public regarding scheduling and filings.
Plans, schedules, and conducts analyses/studies or proposed plans for accomplishing program activities. Determines from a programmatic perspective the viability, consistency, and accuracy of plans and projections, and conducts reviews to determine resource levels required to accomplish programs in a sound and efficient manner.
Maintains correspondence via an automated tracking database by ensuring all incoming and outgoing documents are input accurately and timely. Provides support to the office through logistical case file management. Designs and recommends solutions to complex problems; prepares and reviews management reports and/or contractual documents; and develops and recommends improvements to systems and/or processes to improve operational efficiency.
Prepares reports, exhibits, memoranda, and/or statistical analysis for management and attorneys. Manages a high volume caseload involving sensitive data, and handles multiple simultaneous projects with consistently high quality results.
Researches and compiles information from various sources, and coordinates with managers and attorneys to verify or clarify information, processes, or data. Assists managers in planning office activities.
Applies knowledge of FAA procedures, rules, and regulations governing a variety of administrative programs, such as travel, logistics, directives, forms, and records management. Troubleshoots issues and assists staff in the use of corporate applications and systems.
Uses a variety of computer programs and software applications, including Adobe, Case Document Management System (CDMS), Consolidated Automated System for Time and Labor Entry/Labor Distribution Reporting (CASTLE/LDR), DELPHI, Knowledge Services Network (KSN), Microsoft Office Suite, Purchase Request Information System (PRISM), Regional Information System (REGIS), Sharepoint, and Travel Management System (E2), to input/retrieve, research, and analyze data, problem-solve, and otherwise carry out the work of the position.
Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow some discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or recommend new approaches. Assignments require review of policies and precedents under the limited guidance of a manager or other employee. Works with management and more experienced professional to jointly resolve problems.
