Duties

Help
  • Provide authoritative advice on a wide range of administrative functions as these apply to the region.
  • Plan, Analyze and monitor the formulation and development of complex and/or highly sensitive regional plans, programs, procedures, operating policies, and program goals.
  • Develop, document and publicize policy and procedural issuances that govern management of the region, ensuring that the administrative and business needs are appropriately included.
  • Initiate business and administrative studies to assess unusual conditions that impact the effectiveness of operations, develop new programs, improve effectiveness, resolve complex problems, and other management actions that impact the mission.
  • Supervise and direct the work of the administration/property management staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the grade level in which you are applying:

GS-13:

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) providing a wide variety of administrative services to enable efficient operation of a business or program office; (2) analyzing work functions and processes and identifying process improvements; (3) planning and coordinating budget and financial plans and operations; (4) developing and formulating alternative solutions to administrative matters.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).

  • Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
  • Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Physical Demands: Work is mostly sedentary. There is some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as l papers, books and office supplies, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are involved in performing the work; however, employee is required to work at peak effort for extended periods to meet short deadlines.


Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting and with exposure to the outdoor environment. Some travel outside of the office will be required. Work is mostly during normal business hours, but occasionally evening and weekend work will be required.

The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
