  • Jobs with the U.S. Census Bureau Supporting the 2018 Census Test Virtual

    The Census Bureau has begun recruiting for temporary full- and part-time positions in support of the 2018 Census Test. Positions are available in Providence County, R.I. Job offers depend on the availability of work within each community, responses to assessment questions, language skills, fit for a specific position, and other qualifications. Please understand that not every qualified applicant who applies will be offered a job.

    You may be eligible to qualify if:

    • You are a U.S. citizen.
    • You are at least 18 years old.
    • You have a valid Social Security number.
    • You complete the necessary skills assessments.
    • You have a vehicle and valid driver’s license, for many jobs.
    • You pass a background check.
    • You commit to completing training. (You will be paid for this training at a training pay rate.)
    • You have a personal e-mail address.
    • Your current employment does not present a conflict of interest (reviewed on a case-by-case basis).
    • You are currently not employed by the Federal Government.

    Most jobs require employees to:

    • Have access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license, unless public transportation is readily available; and
    • Have access to a computer with Internet and an e-mail account (to complete training).
