Albuquerque, NM: EN-04 pay ranges from $123,485 to $197,540.
Livermore, CA: EN-04 pay band ranges from $152,105 to $204,000.
As a General Engineer/Physical Scientist (Senior Program Manager), you will:
The incumbent must manage a large number, of projects involving NNSA sponsored programs performed at SNL, most of which are multi-year research and development projects revolving around state-of-the-art technology.
Manages funding resources in the implementation and execution of specific national security projects in full accordance with allocations provided in the Approved Funding Program.
Conducts analyses to forecast project over runs/under runs in program/project obligations and costs, and requests reallocation of funds or supplemental appropriations as necessary.
Establishes and maintains system to manage the authorization of work at SNL, in accordance with regulations. Monitors performance of contractors and provides technical direction of efforts required under the Statement of Work.
Makes recommendations on modifications to Statements of Work, as necessary. Reviews and endorses operating and equipment budget, manpower requirements, schedule and proposed subcontract efforts for the support of assigned program activities.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., EN-03 or GS-13. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1. Applying advanced engineering or physical science principles, concepts, theories, and practices to implement and evaluate nuclear weapons research activities associated with production, development of science, manufacturing capabilities and technology maturation.
2. Experience with management procedures to provide oversight of nuclear weapons research & development, nuclear weapons design and production, nuclear weapons sustainment.
3. Experience with program management functions related to major, diverse programs involving nuclear weapon technologies, production, sustainment or research and development.
4. Providing policy guidance on complex problems related to design, production, or sustainment of the nuclear weapons program.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: 1. Professional registration or licensure,2.Written Test,3.Specified academic courses -- Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A, 4. Related curriculum -- Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. 1301 Physical Science Basic Requirements: Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
