Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/19/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for the Supervisory Ecologist position at the GS-11 grade, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a degree in biology, or a related field of science underlying ecological research that included at least 30 semester hours in basic and applied biological sciences. These hours must have included at least 9 semester hours in ecology, and 12 semester hours in physical and mathematical sciences. You must include transcripts with your application.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level. Specialized experience is experience that equips the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include the following: 1) Support the development and implementation of fish and/or wildlife conservation projects; 2) Assist with monitoring and evaluating fish and/or wildlife project activities in the field to determine progress in accomplishment of stated project objectives; 3) Assist in data management and information exchange within or among natural resource organizations; 4) Assist in developing and implementing mitigation solutions to actions resulting from adverse effects on natural resources. You must annotate hours worked per week on your resume.

EDUCATION:
Three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study directly related to the position to be filled (biology, ecology, natural resource management, etc.). COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
An equivalent combination of directly related graduate education and experience. To determine if you qualify under this combination, first determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the specialized experience required; then determine your education as a percentage of the graduate education required (note: only graduate education in excess of the first two years is creditable for this combination); and then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100% to qualify. You must annotate hours worked per week on your resume and include transcripts.
