The incumbent will be responsible for staffing the entrance station and visitor center information desk, answering visitor questions, explaining regulations, providing information, presenting talks and living history demonstrations. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparation of interpretive programs. The incumbent will also perform the tasks of completing forms for lost and found, keeping records on visitor statistics, operating and maintaining audio-visual and other interpretive equipment. The incumbent will occasionally make sales and collect monies for the cooperating association partner. Other duties may include assisting with basic emergency response, performing roving contacts, operating the summit shuttle and assisting with special events. Operation of a government vehicle is required.

Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/10/2021-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: Possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience include, but are not limited to, Park Guide or tour leader; environmental educator or teacher; deliver structured and informal presentations using various communication techniques to a variety of audiences; archeological or historical preservation research work involving presentations. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of at least the GS-4 grade level in the federal service. You must include hours per week worked.
-OR- EDUCATION: have four (4) years of education above high school (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or 24 semester hours of coursework in a related field. (Related fields of study include natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archaeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources.)
