    Summary

    The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) serves the community of Inspectors General (IGs) through its mission to address integrity, economy, and effectiveness issues that transcend individual Government agencies. CIGIE's Integrity Committee receives, reviews, and refers for investigation allegations made against: an IG; designated staff members of an Office of Inspector General; and the Special Counsel and Deputy Special Counsel, U.S. Office of Special Counsel.

    Responsibilities

    Duties include but are not limited to the following:

    • Develop, document, and implement a process that ensures identification and continuous monitoring of multiple sources for information germane to Integrity Committee cases and timely notification to Integrity Committee members and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure that the Integrity Committee Case Management System (ICCMS) and all other Integrity Committee records are maintained such that all matters that come before the Integrity Committee are adequately and consistently documented, recorded, and tracked.
    • Develop, document, and implement a process that ensures complaints are appropriately screened and categorized, and forwarded, as required.
    • Plan and conduct, in coordination with legal counsel, Integrity Committee meetings, and appropriately document all relevant deliberations, novel issues, precedents, bases, and decisions made by the Integrity Committee.
    • Provide an annual Integrity Committee operations budget estimate to the CIGIE Administrative Officer during CIGIE budget preparation, and track and report budget usage to the CIGIE Administrative Officer to ensure adequate funds are available through the end of each fiscal year.
