Duties

Help
  • Provide technical direction and control of an organization?s budgetary program to ensure effective operation and accomplishment of programs are achieved.
  • Provide problem solutions to situations related to financial management systems activities.
  • Analyze and evaluate ongoing expenditures to ensure timely obligations occur in conjunction with anticipated budget forecasts.
  • Prepares detailed calculations, statistical and narrative justifications to support budget requests.

Qualifications

Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement will be adjusted to include locality payment for selected duty location. General Schedule locality pay tables may be found under Salaries & Wages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess the following: One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) analyzing monthly projections to ensure projected year end requirements are incorporated into budget exhibits; (2) performing financial analysis involving accounting, auditing, budget analysis and overall financial management analysis for assigned activities and customers;(3) conducting systematic examinations and appraisals of financial documents.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess the following: One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: 1) reviewing and analyzing guidelines and instructions received from the Administrative Officer for submission of budget estimates, financial plans, and operating budgets; (2) preparing detailed calculations, statistical and narrative justifications and other pertinent data and documents to support budget requests; (3) developing criteria for financial tracking plans, necessary reports and analytical data to allow for financial review and adjustments through the monitoring and evaluation of program goals.


TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. One year at the GS-12is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
