    Summary

    This Open Continuous Announcement allows acceptance of applications through the closing date. The first cut-off date for receipt/referral of applications to be considered will be February 27, 2020; subsequent cut-off date will be March 27, 2020.

    This position is located in the Department of Health And Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia.

    Responsibilities

    GS-9

    1. Participates with senior analyst in analyzing and evaluating existing policy and legislation, and monitors the effect these policies have on health informatics, adoption, electronic health information exchange, and interoperability.
    2. Conducts and completes analyses and other studies on varied topics related to health information, using various software database applications.
    3. Prepares the preparation of material for speeches, congressional testimony, or other presentations by the Director.
    4. Conducts or manages legal research and analysis on specific issues related to health informatics and electronic health information exchange for the purpose of achieving DHHS objectives.

    GS-11
    1. Participates with senior analyst in analyzing and evaluating existing policy and legislation, and monitors the effect these policies have on health informatics, adoption, electronic health information exchange, and interoperability.
    2. Conducts and completes analyses and other studies on varied topics related to human subject protection, using various software database applications.
    3. Drafts regulations and support ONC's rulemaking activities, including standards and certifications criteria, certification program, governance of the nationwide health information network and promoting interoperability.
    4. Conduct or manage legal research and analysis on specific issues related to health informatics and electronic health information exchange for the purpose of achieving DHHS objectives.
