This position is a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor(Project Manager) located in and serving Hagerman Fossil Beds (HAFO) and Minidoka National Historic Site (MIIN) in the Southern Idaho Parks . Please visit find a park for additional park information.
Duties include:
Assists/Leads efforts in pre-design, design, and construction efforts provided by numerous external contractors performing services on a variety of facility projects.
Determines and recommends project scope, goals, objectives, and alternatives for facility modifications when infrastructure capabilities cannot support mission requirements.
Responsible for construction progress, either as a Contract Officer's Representative (COR) or as overall project manager.
Coordinates work orders and estimates for Southern Idaho Parks projects such as Regular Cyclic, Natural Cyclic, Exhibit Cyclic, Cultural Cyclic, Recreation Fee, Fee Income, Repair Rehabilitation, Environmental Management, Youth Programs, etc.
Evaluates the need for professional consultation for the design, development, review and evaluation of project documents.
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.

Physical Effort: Physical Effort: The extreme climate of Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve (CRMO), Hagerman Fossil Beds (HAFO) and Minidoka National Historic Site (MIIN) also contributes to complexities and challenges related to duties and responsibilities of this position. Organized and efficient project and operational planning is critical to proactive facility management as resources are spread across a vast expanse of Idaho.
Work Environment: Many logistical challenges exist in performing duties as much of the area is isolated from large communities and the three southern Idaho (SoID) parks are spread across 1000 square miles of the Snake River Plain area of Idaho. Area of responsibility include buildings, utilities, roads, trails, campgrounds, grounds, and interpretive media for three parks.
