Buildings and Utilities Work Group: Primary duties of these positions involve the maintenance of exterior structures, buildings and related utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, and other related trades. Sanitation Work Group: Primary duties of these positions involve the collection and disposal of trash and refuse, cleaning and maintaining visitor comfort stations and visitor centers, and checking buildings for proper function. All positions will operate vehicles in the performance of assigned duties for transportation of self and others and materials and equipment to and from work sites.

Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You may also be required to submit all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
Sanitation positions require working weekends and holidays; occasional overtime work may be required.
B&U positions may require working weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work; the normal schedule is an alternate 5/4/9 tour of duty.
Government housing is not available.
Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
Qualifications
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations (X-118-C) will be used in determining applicants' qualifications. Physical Demands: May work from ladders, scaffolds, and platforms and where surfaces to be coated, or the parts of systems worked on are hard to reach that require incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
