Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). You may be required to operate a government motor vehicle as part of your official duties. Prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year thereafter (or more frequently if management determines such need exists), you will be required to sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked, suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle. You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists. Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following qualifications by close of the announcement:
Basic Requirements: Degree: in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR Combination of education and experience: Combination of education and experience that included course work equivalent to a major (i.e. 24 semester hours) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a discipline closely related to biology, PLUS appropriate experience or additional course work.
In addition to the Basic Requirements you must also meet the specialized experience requirements:
Experience: At least one (1) year of specialized experience directly related to the duties of the position at the GS-05 grade level under the General Schedule (GS) or equivalent under other pay systems. Specialized experience include but is not limited to: knowledge of biological ecosystems including soils, aquatic systems, native flora, and fauna, and their associated habitat requirements in order to effectively implement scientifically credible inventory, monitoring, mitigation, and protection programs. Manage the collection and summation of data, and accomplish data analysis in a way that meets acceptable standards. Generate reports using computer hardware, software and applications. Insure that documents are well written and easily understood in order to share information with others. Monitor natural resources according to NPS regulations and policies.
OR Education: 1 year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that number cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered an academic year of graduate study. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
