Education: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of professional nursing experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector. This experience must have equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience include: Coordinating nursing staff and workload to maintain adequate coverage and continuity of patient care; Providing direction and guidance to nursing staff and identifying training, development, and competency needs; Developing or revising nursing policies and procedures to support quality improvement and patient safety; Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic health conditions, including assessing patient needs and determining appropriate nursing interventions; Coordinating patient care with physicians and other healthcare professionals to address patient needs and maintain continuity of care.
Supervisory Abilities: This is a supervisory position. Applicants must demonstrate the ability or potential to lead, supervise, and manage personnel and programs effectively.
