Providing technical assistance for a wide range of developmental IT assignments and projects relative to information systems and/or security matters;
Assisting and provides support in research that ensures the confidentiality, integrity of the IT infrastructure, and availability of IT services and business requirements that affect the customer's satisfaction with IT services;
Assisting in the research in a developmental capacity that provides staff and supervisors with enough information to allow them to independently develop recommendations through use of FTC data such as that for budgets, acquisitions, governance, performance management, and enterprise architecture and customer feedback and that can support considerations by senior decision makers;
Performing basic troubleshooting of security issues under close direction of more senior IT staff;
Evaluating and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns; and
U.S. citizenship requirement must be met by the closing date of this vacancy.

Qualifications
To qualify for an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GS-09 level, you must meet the following Basic Requirements:

Qualifications based on Education (You must provide a copy of your transcript(s) to verify your claim): Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or Two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.

Specialized Experience: (Your resume must include details that support your claim(s).You MUST have at least 52 weeks (1 year) of specialized experience at the GS-07 or equivalent in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position.
Specialized experience includes Performing IT-related tasks such as:- assisting with research on security vulnerabilities and threats;- personal responsibility for at least a segment of the overall project to develop recommendations and plans to minimize risks associated with vulnerabilities;- identifying and evaluating new security technologies;- promoting awareness of security issues among management, staff, and the public, and ensuring security principles are reflected in policies;- and/or supporting the gathering, analysis, and preservation of evidence used in the investigation or prosecution of computer fraud or other computer crimes.Specialized Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience.
